IoT stands for the Internet of Things. It means everyday objects—like lights, appliances, or toys—are connected to the internet and can “talk” to each other or be controlled remotely. For example, a smart thermostat that adjusts the temperature based on your phone or a doorbell that lets you see visitors on your tablet are both IoT devices. This class introduces kids to this exciting technology by teaching them how to build their own smart devices.

In this hands-on class, students will learn to design and build their own 3D games using Roblox Studio—a beginner-friendly game creation tool. They will create worlds, characters, and interactive features, and bring them to life with Lua programming.With the help of ChatGPT, an AI assistant, students will brainstorm ideas, write and improve their game code, and solve problems more easily—making game development fun and accessible, even for first-time coders!

· What IoT Is and How It Works: Understanding how smart devices connect and work.

· Guided Coding with AI Support: Using ChatGPT to help write and troubleshoot Arduino programs, making coding easier and more fun. · Building Smart Devices: Hands-on experience assembling electronic parts like sensors and displays. · Creative Problem Solving: Learning to design and improve projects by thinking critically and experimenting. · Introduction to AI: Discovering how artificial intelligence can assist in programming and technology.

· IoT Starter Kit: A special kit with all the parts your child will use (Purchased seperately). · Arduino Software: Free program to write code, which must be installed before class starts — available at arduino.cc/en/software. · A Computer: Needed to program and connect to devices. Supported computers include Windows, Mac, and Chromebooks. ○ Minimum 4GB of RAM recommended

○ USB port and a stable internet connection required
